General information: The four-week annual European Summer Program in Yiddish was founded at Oxford in 1982 and transferred to Vilnius in 1998. Since 2001, it has been an integral part of the Vilnius Yiddish Institute at Vilnius University. The program is internationally known for superb academic instruction and a rich program of cultural events. An unmatchable flavour derives from its location on the five century old campus of Vilnius University, in the heart of the city famed in history as the Jerusalem of Lithuania. The thriving capital of a modern democracy, Vilnius provides all western amenities and offers a wide range of living, dining, and leisure time options. The program's four courses in Yiddish language and literature, ranging from beginners (Yiddish I) through to advanced (Yiddish IV), are university accredited. They meet five mornings weekly for three hours. To receive the completion certificate and university credit, students must attend the entire four-week course and complete daily homework assignments. The cultural program (afternoons, evenings, Sundays) offers a broad array of activities designed to acquaint participants with Yiddish civilization. Regular fee is $1410; Student fee $895.

Accommodation: We do assist students with finding accommodation in Vilnius. We assist in renting apartments and we offer rooms in the Military academy dormitory.
