General information

The Lausanne Summer School “Transitional Justice and Conflict Transformation” brings together young researchers from around the world whose PhD-work tackles the difficult problem of how past injustice and mass crimes are being addressed during societal transitions. The school is organised by an international research consortium and it promotes multi-disciplinary perspectives on transitional justice, collective memory, dealing with the past and conflict management. It combines lectures given by internationally renowned experts with mentoring activities, writing workshops and project work.


Students housing near the campus have been pre-booked for interested participants. Rooms can be booked while submitting your online application. The conditions are the following:

  • CHF 450.- per person
  • The participant will have a private room in a shared apartment
  • Bathroom, kitchen and living rooms have to be shared
  • The apartments have a wifi connection
  • Participants have to make their own breakfast
  • Participants will be responsible for the cleaning of their room and flat before vacating the apartment

The price includes a stay from 1 to 15 July 2018, allowing participants to stay the weekend following the summer school.
