About the Program
All courses offered during the Summer School are opened to students with necessary prerequisites. Summer School courses are also attended by METU students. All courses have Turkish students in each class giving the visiting Summer School students an opportunity to meet local students. 3-credit courses meet 7 hours weekly for 6 weeks or total of 42 hours (this is equivalent to regular semester course). The medium of instruction at METU is English.
Class Requirements:
Unless otherwise specified in the course description, students will be required to take mid-term and final examinations, or equivalent to obtain credit. Instructors may also require other assignments. Class attendance is required.
Transcript:
Students will be given an official transcript issued by Middle East Technical University. Transcripts show course title, number of credit hours and final course grade. Grades are A to D with F indicating failure and NA non-attendance. An official Letter of Attendance may be issued upon request.
Accommodation
Participants are accommodated in campus dormitory, double or single room. Rooms will be in METU's newest dormitories.
Students who wish to live off campus will be responsible for finding their own accommodation. However, generally in Turkey landlords tend not to rent their apartments for a short period of time.
The summer school dormitory has a shared laundry and a kitchen . There are also tv sets and internet connection in each room. In addition, hot water is available all day. Canteen in this dormitory is open from 8:00 a.m until 23:00 p.m. Additionally, students can choose from a variety of eating places on the campus, at reasonable prices.

ECTS accreditation
Students who have attended METU's International Summer School in previous years have had no difficulty transferring credits from the Summer Program. However, students should consult with their faculty advisors and university registrar in advance to ensure that courses will be acceptable to their program. All METU courses have both local METU and ECTS credits.
