What is the European Identity? The answer seems simple but, in reality, is not that easy to find!
Based on the firm tradition of collaboration with China, VUB organizes a tailor-made programme “VUB Summer School - Explore Europe in Brussels” for students from our Chinese partner universities, as a part of our grand Summer School programmes for students from all over the world.
Discover Europe through the Summer School “European Identity?” organized by Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).
Immerse yourself in different topics of the European Identity at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, one of the top universities in Europe from 15th of July to 30th of July 2015. Courses are taught by experts in the fields.

Complemented by field visits to, among others, a chocolate factory, a brewery, the European Parlamentarium, and many of the unknown corners of Brussels, the summer school allows for a truly fascinating experience.

Brussels and the university are vibrant hubs, but trips to Paris and Amsterdam will inspire you even more to think about the European Identity, similarities and differences.
Why apply?
By participating in this programme, students will have all necessary knowledge related to EU topics and useful information on EU matters.
Learning outcomes:
- Basic knowledge of theory and practice of Urban Studies and Urban Spaces
- General Knowledge of European governance structures
- Insight in the role of Brussels in Europe
- Insight in European culture ( a helicopter view from past to contemporary times , focusing on a number of cases - art , food , politics, governance)
- Developing an entrepreneurial attitude , possible involvement in entrepreneurship and personal career management
- Creation of a sense of world citizenship , a soft skill required in many situations in study and work
- Improvement of English Language skills and presentation skills
We offer a certificate for students at the end of the Programme.
